£60m offer to Liverpool rejected, star had just 5 Premier League starts
That's despite the player having just five Premier League starts to his name. It was another strange summer at Anfield in 2026.
The Reds moved on from Arne Slot despite consistently saying they wouldn't, instead hiring Andoni Iraola to lead the team going forward. Article continues under the video But that wasn't the only major change.
Liverpool also said goodbye to Mohamed Salah, arguably the face of the club for the past seven years, and Andy Robertson, an all-time great player. Ibrahima Konate then departed on a free transfer for Real Madrid - and that was before the usual big-money arrivals.
It ended up being a bit of an overhaul, then, but a particularly odd one as none of the departures mentioned brought in any money. To top that off, Liverpoolrejectedone big money offer.
Liverpool rejected Rio Ngumoha approach The Telegraph reports that Liverpool rejected £60m from Bayern Munich for Rio Ngumoha. The German champions were willing to go all-in on the teenager, clearly viewing him as the future on their flank.
Ngumoha only had five Premier League starts to his name at the time of the approach - he only has six now, months later. Liverpool, though, didn't even entertain the idea.
They see much greater potential in Ngumoha and quite honestly, they've been proven right already. He's clearly moved on another level this season, proving he can be decisive in big games and on either flank.
We're not sure Liverpool would even accept £80m. They might reject £100m, quite honestly, such is his level right now.
Ngumoha is on course to be a genuine world-beater and the kind of player teams dream of developing. That's what Liverpool have done here, even if Ngumoha joined very late in that development.
