Anastasios Douvikas hat-trick sends Como striker top of Champions League scoring chart

Anastasios Douvikas scored a hat-trick for Como as the Greek striker moved above Erling Haaland in the Champions League scoring standings. The forward struck in the seventh, 32nd and 57th minutes against Lens on Wednesday evening, helping Como to a remarkable 9-1 victory in the fourth round of the league phase.

The result, played at Bollaert stadium, was the biggest win in Champions League history. Douvikas' three goals also took his total in this season's competition to six, putting him clear at the top of the scorers' list.

Haaland had begun Manchester City's match against German side Leipzig with four Champions League goals. After scoring the decisive goal in City's 3-2 victory, the Norway international appeared to have moved into first place with five goals.

However, Douvikas' treble changed the standings, leaving Haaland in second place with five goals after four rounds of the competition. Douvikas' performance also moved Como's forward ahead of Nicolo Tresoldi, who has five goals for Club Brugge.

Tresoldi scored again in his side's match against Dutch club PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday. Seven other players are level in third place, with four goals each.

That group includes Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe, who are first and second respectively in this year's Ballon d'Or race. Barcelona forward Raphinha, who has been in outstanding form recently, is also among the players with four goals.
