Arsenal eye first Premier League monthly awards double since 2023

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for October. Arteta is competing with Brighton & Hove Albion's Fabian Hurzeler, Chelsea's Xabi Alonso, Aston Villa's Unai Emery, Bournemouth's Marco Rose and Tottenham Hotspur's Roberto De Zerbi for the award.

The Spaniard led Arsenal to three wins under the month in review. The north London side began with a comeback victory against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium, before securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.

A 2-0 home win against Everton ensured that the Gunners ended the month with a perfect record. De Zerbi and Hurzeler are Arteta's biggest challengers for the award, although they were in charge of more matches than the Arsenal manager.

Arteta has won the award eight times, with his last coming in March, 2026. Meanwhile, defender Ezri Konsa and midfielder Declan Rice have beennominated for the Player of the Month award.

Konsa played every minute in October as the defending champions aint perfect and conceded just once. He scored his first goal for the club against Everton.

Konsa has never won the award, and he would become the first defender to win it this season if he emerges victorious. Rice also enjoyed an impressive month, registering two assists and creating eight chances while contributing defensively.

The England midfielder has never won the award either. Aston Villa's Nicolas Jackson and Bournemouth's Evanilson are among the biggest challengers to Konsa and Rice, having both scored four goals in October.

If Arteta and either Konsa or Rice win their respective awards, it would mark the first time in three years that Arsenal have secured both the Premier League Manager and Player of the Month awards.
