Arsenal manager and players up for Premier League monthly awards

Arteta is in contention for Manager of the Month, while Konsa and Rice have both made the eight-man shortlist for Player of the Month. Voting closes at 12pm GMT on Monday, November 9 (links for voting at the end).

Arsenal's league record in October gives Arteta a strong case. His side beat Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Everton, scoring five goals and conceding only once.

He is the only manager among the six nominees to have won every Premier League match in October. Arteta is chasing a ninth Premier League Manager of the Month award, having most recently won it in March.

His competition comes from Xabi Alonso of Chelsea, Roberto De Zerbi of Tottenham, Unai Emery of Aston Villa, Fabian Hurzeler of Brighton and Marco Rose of Bournemouth. The summer signing from Aston Villa has continued to build his centre-back partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes and also made an impact at the other end, scoring his first Arsenal goal in the 2-0 victory over Everton.

Rice, meanwhile, supplied two assists during October, setting up Bruno against Leeds and Madueke against Forest, both winning goals. Rice also created eight chances across the three matches, including four against Everton, while playing his part in a side that conceded only once during the month.

Konsa and Rice are joined on the Player of the Month shortlist by Evanilson of Bournemouth, Nicolas Jackson of Villa, Jack Rudoni of Coventry City, Jan Paul van Hecke of Tottenham, and Brighton's Bart Verbruggen and Luka Vuskovic. Supporters' votes will be combined with those of a panel of football experts before the winners are announced next week.
