Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka returned to the starting line-up, while Eberechi Eze was selected ahead of Madueke on the left.

Liam Delap also kept Arsenal defenders Gabriel and Ezri Konsa occupied throughout the first half. Forest Create the First Clear Opportunity Despite spending much of the opening period defending, Forest created the first significant chance of the match.
Nico Dominguez, who started in place of Gibbs-White, capitalised on a misplaced pass from Riccardo Calafiori. Delap then collected a deflected cross from Daniel Munoz before setting up Dan Ndoye, whose attempt was turned around the post.
