Barcelona have reported Paris Saint-Germain to UEFA over a tifo that was displayed at Parc des Princes during Tuesday's Champions League tie between the two clubs. PSG supporters revealed a banner displaying a masked figure in a PSG shirt attacking the Barcelona crest with a chainsaw.

The Catalans have now issued a strong response and condemned the tifo that was on display. "The club strongly condemns the incidents that took place when the tifo was displayed in the stands, including the images of a blood-covered chainsaw attacking the Barca crest," he club said in a statement to BBC Sport.

"These images were deeply disturbing and conveyed a message that incites violence and hatred in sport. We consider this kind of imagery and language unacceptable as it goes against the values of respect, fair play and sportsmanship that should be upheld in football.

We believe that football should be a space for healthy rivalry, mutual respect, and passion for the game, free from messages that promoted hatred or violence." Barcelona now await a response from UEFA and a decision on whether disciplinary measures will be taken against the Champions League holders regarding the tifo.
