Barcelona star addresses Manchester United links

Barcelona star Fermín López has issued a response to the surprise recent speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League, with struggling Manchester United. Midfielder Fermín is for his part in the midst of what has been another thoroughly productive opening to the new campaign.

Just last night, the Spanish international secured Man of the Match honours, after notching a goal and two assists en route to a 6-1 Barca drubbing of Deportivo Alavés. This took Fermín's season tally to 12 direct goal contributions in 13 appearances between La Liga and the Champions League.

Amid an ongoing search for added dynamism in their engine room ranks, the aforementioned Manchester United are in turn understood to have earmarked Barca's all-action midfielder as the ideal profile. Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side's victory over Alavés on Saturday, however, Fermín was keen to play down his Old Trafford links: "Manchester United links?

I don't pay attention to that kind of news. I want to stay here at Barça as long as possible.

I hope to end my football career at this club and retire here." 🚨 Fermín López: "Manchester United links? I don't pay attention to that kind of news.
