Where Gross Ranks Among Veteran Winners At 35 years and three months old, Gross became the sixth-oldest player to win the Premier League Player of the Month award. The only players ahead of him on that list are Stuart Pearce and Teddy Sheringham, both aged 38, Cristiano Ronaldo, aged 37, Gianfranco Zola, aged 36, and Paul Scholes, who was 35 years and nine months old when he won it.
Gross also moved just ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who won the same award at 35 years and two months old.
