CAF confirms dates for 2026 Women's Champions League

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the 2026 CAF Women's Champions League will take place from November 1 to 15, with eight clubs set to battle for the continental crown. The decision follows a virtual CAF Executive Committee meeting chaired by president, Patrice Motsepe on Friday, October 2, 2026.
The tournament will bring together some of Africa's leading women's clubs after they secured qualification through the various zonal competitions. Defending champions AS FAR of Morocco will headline the competition as they look to retain the title, having established themselves as one of the continent's dominant forces in recent years.
Other clubs already confirmed for the tournament include Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, USFAS Bamako of Mali, Kawempe Muslim Ladies of Uganda, Lekié FF of Cameroon and FUS Rabat of Morocco. The remaining qualification places will complete the eight-team line-up for the final tournament.
Meanwhile, the identity of the representative from the WAFU B zone remains uncertain following a controversial decision by CAF concerning the final between Ghana's Ampem Darkoa and Nigeria's Edo Queens. Edo Queens initially secured the regional title after winning the penalty shootout, but CAF later ruled that the match had not followed the required procedure because the mandatory 30 minutes of extra time was not played before the shootout.
CAF has therefore ordered the match to resume from extra time with the score tied at 2-2, leaving the qualification battle unresolved. The decision means the 2026 Women's Champions League has its dates confirmed, but one of the eight participating clubs is still to be determined.
