CAF Women's Champions League: Ampem Darkoa beats Kawempe Muslim 2-1 in Egypt

Ampem Darkoa Ladies continued their impressive campaign at the 2026 CAF Women's Champions League in Egypt after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Uganda's Kawempe Muslim Ladies in their second Group B encounter. The Ghanaian champions picked up all three points at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia on Thursday, thanks to Beline Nyarkoh's late strike, which proved decisive in an entertaining contest.
Ampem Darkoa took the lead just eight minutes into the game after Nancy Amoh punished a costly mistake by the Kawempe Muslim goalkeeper to give the Ghanaian side an early advantage. However, the Ugandan champions refused to surrender and drew level in the 33rd minute through Nabirye Shadia, leaving both teams heading into the half-time break with the score tied at 1-1.
The contest remained evenly balanced after the restart, with Kawempe Muslim putting up a strong fight to keep their opponents at bay. With the match seemingly heading towards a draw, Ampem Darkoa found the breakthrough in the 83rd minute when Nyarkoh scored to restore their lead and secure a valuable 2-1 win.
The victory marks Ampem Darkoa Ladies' second triumph in Group B and strengthens their chances of advancing to the semi-finals of the continental competition. The Ghanaian side will now turn their attention to their final group fixture against Moroccan giants AS FAR, where they will look to secure a place in the last four.
