Champions League clubs monitor Noni Madueke as Arsenal game time dries up

Noni Madueke is attracting interest from several Champions League clubs after falling down the pecking order at Arsenal this season. The Telegraph reports that Atletico Madrid and Juventus are among the long-term admirers monitoring the England international ahead of the January transfer window.

Other European clubs are also expected to keep track of his situation, with a potential loan move one possibility should his limited playing time continue. Madueke joined Arsenal from Chelsea for £48.5million in July 2025 and made 16 Premier League starts during his debut campaign despite missing around two months with a knee injury.

The 24-year-old has found opportunities considerably harder to come by during the opening weeks of the new season. Madueke is yet to start a Premier League game this term, with his only league appearances coming from the bench against Coventry City and Chelsea.

He has instead been handed starts by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta in the Community Shield and Carabao Cup, scoring in the 4-2 cup victory over Ipswich Town last month. Madueke also featured for 18 minutes as a substitute during Arsenal's 1-0 Champions League victory away to Napoli, highlighting his reduced role since the campaign began.

Competition for attacking places has increased following Christos Tzolis' summer arrival, while the emergence of academy prospect Max Dowman has provided Arteta with another option. Tzolis' recent injury while representing Greece could potentially create further opportunities for Madueke when Arsenal return to domestic action against Leeds United.

His reduced minutes have already affected his international prospects after Thomas Tuchel left him out of England's squad for their opening Nations League fixtures. Madueke had previously remained firmly in Tuchel's plans and featured five times at the World Cup, including starting England's quarter-final victory over Norway.

He has earned 16 senior England caps and is highly regarded for his ability in one-on-one situations, meaning his situation is unsurprisingly attracting attention elsewhere. However, there is currently no indication Arsenal are actively looking to sell the winger only 15 months after investing heavily to bring him across London.

The coming months could therefore prove significant as Madueke attempts to force his way back into Arteta's Premier League plans before the January window opens.
