The top eight go straight to the last 16, 9th to 24th go into the knockout play-offs and 25th to 36th are eliminated, according to UEFA's format guide. PSG top the table on goals scored (10) over Barcelona (9), with both on +7. Barcelona are 2nd ahead of Villa on away goals after both scored nine.

Real Madrid are 8th and Real Betis 9th, level on +2 and six goals scored, with Real Madrid ahead on away goals. Bayern are 10th on four points and unbeaten, ahead of 13 teams on three points between 12th and 24th.

Man Utd (+2) and Man City (0) are in that group, separated from 24th, Bodo/Glimt (-4), by goal difference alone. Aston Villa have the best goal difference of the English clubs (+7) after the 6-0 win over Fenerbahce, and they host Viking, who are 27th on one point.
