Dan Neil Rangers Displays Attract Premier League Interest

But in the past month or so, in sense of club football timing, there has definitely been a huge upturn and improvement in Dan Neil's displays. He has become, of course, Rangers' effective captain in the absence of Lawrence Shankland, having already been vice captain.

And he has stepped up in performance with improved, more dominant displays in the middle. As such, his performances have started attracting some attention from the Premier League in England.

Dan Neil Rangers improvement Dan Neil has three appearances at that level in football. He was aware that he would struggle to get minutes with Sunderland in the top flight and made the decision this summer not to renew his deal.

They had, of course, finished in a strong position in the Premier League, and the players who had done so were all off to the World Cup in his position. Ergo, Neil realised that there would be no point in signing a new contract because Sunderland would overlook him.

However, other Premier League sides have been looking at Neil's displays this season, and after that sticky start, he started to shine over the course of September and October. Premier League interest Ergo, Ibrox Noise understands at least one Premier League side is monitoring Neil, with the potential for a move over the next 12 months if his progress continues.

Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town, who ironically he was on loan with last season, are both considering a future move for him with Palace's interest more concrete. He is, of course, only 24 at this point and reaching peak age for a central defensive midfielder.

He is the kind of player who would suit the lower half of the Premier League rather well, and more than one side is monitoring him. Consequently, Rangers may need to fend off a few offers over the next 12 months for the services of a player who is extremely familiar with both the Championship and indeed the Premier League.

Dan Neil Rangers future Of course, as we said, his appearances in the Premier League are not overwhelming. But as we explained before, a major reason for his lack of appearances in Sunderland's midfield and his loans out was simply the pressure from his parent club because of the talent they had in his position.

After all, as we've mentioned, a whole glut of his peers went to the World Cup. Dan Neil isn't quite England international level.
