Dujon Sterling told he is ready for Premier League transfer as Rangers contract continues to run out

Rangers defender Dujon Sterling is now being tipped to take the step up and become a Premier League full-back. Sterling has been among Rangers' players of the season so far, and has established himself as the first-choice right-back following James Tavernier's departure.

Even though the Light Blues brought in Kosta Nedeljkovic and Ross McCrorie, neither have been able to displace the 26-year-old as the Light Blues' go-to option. Besiktas reportedly lining up £12.7m move for Nicolas Raskin in January!

He has even claimed that he's ready-made for the Premier League, and clubs from England's top flight could come in for him. What Jackson has not taken into consideration is that the 26-year-old's contract runs out at the end of the season.

Rangers News has been told that the club are not worried about that situation, as things stand. While talks have not been opened for a new contract, there is nothing from the Englishman's side to suggest that he is angling for a move or that he's unhappy with how things are at Ibrox.

Right now, he just wants to remain fit and be a regular part of McInnes' first team. MORE RANGERS STORIES How much is Sterling worth if he signs an extension at Rangers?

If Sterling does remain fit for the entire season and signs a deal until 2030, he becomes one of the major assets at the club. In previous years, players have run their contracts down and left for nothing or too little, and that is not something the current owners want to encourage.

Once they begin to see that interest is rising, Sterling will be given better terms and told that he would be allowed to leave at the right price in the summer. Anything above £15m should be considered good for the right-back, given his current performances.

If he goes on to do better, there could be £20m demands being made as well, and it remains to be seen if he can go on to kick on and take his game to the next level.
