Frank Lampard backs Brandon Thomas-Asante to prove himself in the Premier League

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard believes Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has the mentality, talent and determination to succeed in the English Premier League after working his way up from non-league football. Lampard has praised the striker's journey through the English football system, describing him as an example to players in the lower divisions who dream of reaching the highest level.

Thomas-Asante began his career with spells at National League sides Ebbsfleet United and Sutton United before establishing himself at Salford City in League Two. His performances later earned him a move to West Bromwich Albion in the Championship before he eventually reached the Premier League with Coventry City.

Lampard believes the Ghana international's attitude towards training and his desire to improve have played a major role in his rise. "From knowing him now from working close up with him, a huge part of that is his mentality towards it.

He's fought his way up the leagues. He trains at such a level every day to try and maximise himself," Lampard said.

The Coventry manager added that Thomas-Asante has the physical strength, anticipation and hold-up play required to compete at the highest level. Lampard also expressed his confidence in the forward's ability to contribute to the team, insisting that he was convinced of his importance to Coventry after taking charge.

"Brandon's got them and I'm a big supporter of his and believer in his and when I came up I was like, he's absolutely for me at this football club, to be able to offer so much," he added. The 27-year-old's journey from the lower divisions to the Premier League highlights the value of perseverance, hard work and a strong mentality in professional football.
