Gabriel Jesus sends Champions League message to Barcelona captain Raphinha

Gabriel Jesus says Barcelona captain Raphinha deserves to score the goal that will deliver the Catalan club their sixth Champions League crown. Raphinha has started the season in incredible form, banging in 14 goals already for Hansi Flick's side.

The captain has been leading by example, and Jesus has been impressed by his form. "I think Raphinha deserves the goal that gives us our sixth Champions League title.

He's incredible, constantly improving, and I hope he keeps it up because he also improves the team," he told the club's media. Jesus is the latest Brazilian star to join Barcelona and has also spoken about how Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Nazario have always been his heroes.

"He's a great legend here in Barcelona and, for most fans, the greatest Brazilian legend at FC Barcelona. I saw him play and followed him in his prime; he was spectacular," he added.

"He and Ronaldo (Nazario) are, for me, the greatest Brazilian legends to have played for FC Barcelona. Ronaldinho brought joy to the pitch.

Jesus looks set to act as back-up to Raphinha this season and could come in for histeam-mate on Saturday against Getafe. Raphinha may not be risked in the matchafter sustaining a minor injury on international duty."
