GFA, FIFA to hold Women's Football Strategy Stakeholders' consultation in Accra

The Ghana Football Association (GFA), in partnership with FIFA, will hold a three-day Women's Football Strategy Stakeholders' Consultation Process in Accra from November 10 to 12, 2026. The initiative will bring together football administrators, technical officials, government representatives and other key stakeholders to assess progress made in women's football and develop a clear direction for its future growth in Ghana.
The sessions will be facilitated by FIFA technical experts Thubaelihle Bridgette Sibanda and Rasha Nuri Meloudo. Participants will represent various areas of the women's football structure, including the GFA General Secretariat, Regional Football Association coordinators, District Football Association representatives, technical departments, women's football administrators, coaches, referees, former players, club officials and national team representatives.
Other departments expected to participate include competitions, marketing and communications, human resources, finance, safeguarding and club licensing. Key external partners such as the Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Gender, Ghana Education Service, sponsors and the media will also be represented.
The consultation process will be conducted in two phases to encourage broad participation and ensure alignment across the various departments. Phase 1: Consultative Stakeholders' Workshop (November 10-11, 2026) The first phase will take place at the GFA Technical Directorate in the Airport Residential Area of Accra.
Discussions will focus on reviewing the GFA Women's Football Strategy (2023-2026), assessing its achievements and challenges through SWOT and gap analyses, and identifying key priorities and practical targets for the next stage of development. Phase 2: Departmental Consultations (November 12, 2026) The second phase will involve FIFA delegates and technical experts holding direct consultation meetings with specialised administrative and technical departments within the GFA.
These engagements will take place at both the GFA Technical Directorate and the Association's Head Office. The exercise forms part of the GFA's efforts to strengthen its women's football development framework and establish a sustainable structure that supports players, technical personnel and administrators across the country.
