Harry Kane has made his priorities clear. Despite describing his Ballon d'Or triumph as one of the best moments of his career, the Bayern Munich striker would trade the individual honor for a Champions League title with Bayern.
Asked by a Spanish journalist whether he would swap the Ballon d'Or for Champions League glory, Kane made it clear that team success remains his ultimate ambition (as captured by@iMiaSanMia). "Yeah, I've always said team trophies are why we play football.
I think the team aspect of our sport is really, really important," Kane explained. The England captain admitted that winning the Ballon d'Or was an extraordinary personal achievement, describing the ceremony as one of the best feelings of his life and career.
However, he believes that lifting the Champions League trophy alongside his teammates would carry a different kind of significance. "When you look back at your career, of course the Ballon d'Or is a highlight, and I think it puts me on an even bigger level.
But you want to have these big finals, Champions League, winning, having that feeling of emotion with your teammates as well," Kane said. Ultimately, Kane gave a straightforward answer when asked which achievementhe would choose.
"I would choose the Champions League," he said. Fortunately for Kane and Bayern, he does not necessarily have to choose between the two.
The striker pointed out that he is in a position to pursue both achievements, leaving the door open for what could become an even more memorable chapter in his career. "I'm in a situation where I have the opportunity to do both, so let's see what happens," Kane concluded.
