Harvey Barnes shortlisted for Premier League Goal of the Month

Harvey Barnes is in contention for the Premier League's September Goal of the Month award after his superb strike for Newcastle United against Bournemouth. Newcastle United confirmed Barnes' nomination after the winger's curling finish helped the Magpies recover from two goals down in the 2-2 draw at St James' Park.

Barnes received the ball on the left before cutting inside and finding the top corner to give Matthias Jaissle's side a route back into the game. Supporters have until12pm BST on Monday 28 Septemberto vote, with the result due to be announced next week. Barnes has remained influential since the Bournemouth draw.

He was directly involved in both early goals as Newcastlebeat Hull City 2-1 at St James' Park, helping create the openings converted by Joe Willock and Lewis Hall. His nomination also gives Newcastle the opportunity to win the award in consecutive months after Anthony Elanga claimed the August prize.

With Newcastle not returning to Premier League action until theirtrip to Coventry City on 12 October, Barnes' nomination provides another positive talking point during the extended international break.
