Hull City vs Everton LIVE - Confirmed starting lineups & pre-match updates for Premier League 2026-27 clash
Everton resume Premier League play for the first time since the Friedkin Group's decision to sell the club, travelling to Hull City today for a round-six encounter at MKM Stadium. The Toffees are still unblemished this season, and it's unclear how the current owners' ambitions will affect their performance versus the Tigers.
Hull, managed by Sergej Jakirovic, may have dropped points in three league games before the break - four in all - but the promoted team remains in a strong early-season position. Much of the outcome may be determined by the sentiment around the Toffees, whose owners stated on Friday that they plan to seek outside investment in the Merseyside club.
It will be intriguing to watch how David Moyes' players respond to the news, but the eight-placed club is likely to carry on as usual for the time being. Evertonians will be hoping for another solid performance from their squad against the promoted club, as they are aware that they risk falling below Hull, who are one point lower in the rankings.
They have dominated this match since the turn of the 2000, winning six of the past eleven encounters, while the Tigers have only defeated the Merseyside club twice.
