Hussein Rahimi leads Asian Champions League Elite scoring after another decisive goal

Morocco had another standout presence in the AFC Champions League Elite on Monday as Hussein Rahimi continued his remarkable scoring run for Al Ain, shortly after Youssef En-Nesyri helped Al-Ittihad secure a 2-1 victory over Uzbek side Neftchi. Rahimi, 24, scored the winning goal against Tractor from Iran in the third round of the competition, maintaining his perfect record of scoring in every match he has played in the tournament.
The Al Ain forward broke away from close marking to meet an excellent cross from the right. He controlled the delivery brilliantly before finishing into the net to give his side victory.
The goal took Rahimi's total to five in three AFC Champions League Elite appearances. He has now scored twice against Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, twice against Iraq's Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and once against Tractor.
That return places Rahimi at the top of the competition's scoring charts. His performances have established him as one of Al Ain's most influential players, with his goals repeatedly proving decisive in important matches.
En-Nesyri makes history with free-kick Earlier on Monday, Youssef En-Nesyri played a key role in Al-Ittihad's 2-1 win against Neftchi. The forward scored in the final minute with a direct free-kick, a first in his career.
His late effort secured victory for Al-Ittihad and added another important contribution to his growing impact in the AFC Champions League Elite. The two Moroccan forwards therefore made headlines on the same day, with En-Nesyri delivering a decisive late moment for Al-Ittihad and Rahimi continuing to set the pace among the tournament's goalscorers.
Rahimi's latest strike also extended his scoring sequence to three consecutive matches. After finding the net twice against Al-Nassr and twice against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, he added another goal against Tractor to underline his consistency at the highest level of Asian club football.
At the conclusion of the third round, Rahimi sits alone at the summit of the competition's scoring standings, ahead of all other players. His contribution has made him increasingly important to Al Ain as the club looks to maintain its progress in the tournament.
