The Blue Tigers showcased impressive grit and courage in taking the fight to a side that played at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and were clearly surprised by the fight they witnessed from the Indian side. The hosts took a stunning lead in the 41st minute, after Akash Mishra beautifully sent Ryan Williams through on goal to allow the Bengaluru FC forward to score a great goal in his home stadium.

India were able to defend in sturdy fashion, but couldn't really do much to stop an incredible long-distance strike from substitute Omar Valencia in the 68th minute. After that, both sides had their chances to score the winner - but ultimately ended up cancelling each other out.
