Iraola matches Ferguson & Mourinho's Premier League away record after Liverpool beat Palace

Liverpool returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon. The Reds produced a clinical performance to secure all three points after losing their previous two games.

Alexis Mac Allister put the Reds ahead in the 40th minute, running to the near post to head home Dominic Szoboszlai's free-kick. Florian Wirtz doubled their lead after the break, sweeping a right-footed shot into the bottom corner to score his first league goal of the season.

Wirtz then assisted Liverpool's third goal, slipping a simple pass to Alexander Isak. The Swedish international cut inside to beat his marker before firing past Dean Henderson.

Eddie Nketiah scored a consolation goal from the penalty spot for Palace, denying Alisson Becker his fifth clean sheet in the league this term. Manager Andoni Iraola has extended his unbeaten away record in the Premier League to 14 matches since the start of the year.

The Spaniardis just the fourth managerto achieve the feat. Jose Mourinho, Sir Alex Ferguson and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are the others, with the latter holding the highest mark of 15.

Iraola has enjoyed a mixed start to life at Liverpool, with his side enjoying contrasting fortunes in home and away games. The Reds have won just one league win at Anfield this term, three fewer than they have recorded on the road.

Iraola will be hoping to secure his second league win at home against Manchester United after the international break. Liverpool have already suffered home defeats to Arsenal and Manchester City this season.
