Iwobi, Bassey and Ajayi set for Premier League clash as Orban meets Awaziem in Turkey

Three Nigerian internationals will meet in the English Premier League on Saturday, while two more are set to oppose each other in the Turkish Super Lig. Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey are expected to line up for Fulham against Hull City at Craven Cottage, where Semi Ajayi should lead the visitors' defence.

Fulham have struggled since the beginning of the campaign and sit bottom of the table with two points from six matches. Iwobi has created 13 league chances, the highest total among his team-mates, but has yet to score or provide an assist.

Bassey has continued to feature regularly and has also worn the captain's armband under new Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa. Hull have made a stronger start and are eighth with nine points from six games.

Their results include a win against Manchester United on the opening day and a draw away to Chelsea. Ajayi has scored once this season and has played an important role in a Hull defence that has helped the club exceed pre-season expectations that they would face a battle to avoid relegation.

The match comes at a difficult time for Fulham and Arbeloa, who has taken only two points from a possible 18 since replacing Marco Silva in July 2026. Pressure on the Spaniard increased after Fulham lost 2-1 to Ipswich Town on October 10.

Reports suggest Arbeloa has only a limited number of matches in which to improve the team's results. Iwobi, Bassey and Ajayi are all available for selection.

Orban and Awaziem meet in Turkish Super Lig In Turkey, Chidozie Awaziem's Konyaspor travel to Amedspor for a match against Gift Orban, who has made an impressive start to his loan spell. The 24-year-old Orban is joint-top of the Turkish Super Lig scoring standings with seven goals in seven matches.

He has also supplied two assists since joining Amedspor on loan from Hoffenheim in July 2026. Reports in Turkey say Amedspor would have to make the move permanent for €3m if Orban reaches 10 goals.

Awaziem, 29, plays at centre-back for Konyaspor, who are 15th in the table. They will need to contain an Amedspor side that has become increasingly effective in attack.
