KCCA left it late to beat Lugazi 2-1 at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo while 10-man Mbarara City dealt Vipers SC a setback with a 1-0 victory in Wednesday's StarTimes Uganda Premier League action. At Lugogo, substitute Charles Lwanga cancelled out Cromwell Rwothomio's opener before Sammy Ssebaduka headed home in stoppage time to hand KCCA a fourth consecutive win.

Lugazi broke the deadlock in the 56th minute when Rwothomio converted Frank Mulimi's delivery from a corner, threatening to frustrate the hosts after a goalless first half. KCCA coach Brian Ssenyondo introduced Lwanga and Ibrahim Kasule in the 63rd minute, and the change paid off three minutes later as Lwanga headed in Kasule's corner to level matters.

With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Shafik Kwikiriza surged down the left in the 90th minute and delivered for Ssebaduka to seal the points. Ssebaduka was named Man of the Match.

The victory lifts KCCA to fifth on 13 points from seven matches, six behind leaders BUL FC, who have played the same number of games. At Rwamwanja Stadium, Gadaffi Kacancu's 30th-minute strike proved decisive as Mbarara City beat Vipers 1-0, handing new coach John Luyinda a losing start.

Kacancu finished Rogers Mugisha's delivery to put the hosts ahead. Defending champions Vipers struggled to break down Mbarara's organised defence, with Gusto Mulongo and Ian Amanya among those unable to find an equaliser.

Mbarara were reduced to 10 men in the second half after Mugisha received a second yellow card in the 78th minute, but Vipers failed to capitalise. The result leaves Vipers seventh on 11 points from seven games, while Mbarara move to 12th with eight points.

Entebbe UPPC and Maroons played out a goalless draw, leaving Entebbe fourth on 15 points and Maroons eighth on 11.
