Kintu rallies URA FC to build on UPPC point ahead of crucial Blacks Power clash - Uganda Premier League - Official Website

URA FC head coach Jimmy Kintu Mwera has challenged his side to turn a corner and secure maximum points when they square off against Blacks Power FC at the Bukedea Sports Complex this Saturday at 4:00 PM. The Tax Collectors travel to Bukedea on the back of a hard-fought, goalless draw against Entebbe UPPC.

The stalemate successfully halted a worrying three-match losing streak, offering a fragile platform for a seasonal turnaround. Speaking ahead of the fixture, Kintu expressed confidence that his team is moving in the right direction, despite missing out on a victory in their last outing.

"In the last game, I believe we deserved more, but we take a point and we shall build on that against Blacks Power," Kintu stated. Venue Switch Adjustments The fixture presents an added layer of unpredictability following a late venue change.

The match, originally scheduled to take place at the Hoima City Stadium, was relocated to Blacks Power's new home turf in Bukedea. While Kintu acknowledged that the sudden logistical shift forced his technical team to alter their strategic roadmap, he insisted his squad remains fully focused on the task at hand.

"The changes affected our plan and we expect a different environment, but there is no excuse. We want three points," Kintu firmly asserted.

Desperation on Both Sides A victory is paramount for both clubs, who find themselves desperate for form after difficult runs in the league. URA FC currently sits precariously in 15th position with a meager four points from their opening exchanges.

A win today is vital if they are to pull themselves out of the relegation dogfight. However, hosts Blacks Power FC are equally starved for a win.

Despite occupying 8th place with nine points, the Bukedea-based side has hit a rough patch, losing three consecutive matches on the bounce against BUL (2-1), Vipers SC (0-4), and Mbarara City (2-1). In fact, Blacks Power has not tasted victory since September 8, when they edged Maroons FC at Wankulukuku.

With both teams fighting to break their respective slumps and establish momentum, Saturday's showdown at the Bukedea Sports Complex promises to be a fiercely contested battle where nothing short of three points will satisfy either camp.
