Legendary US Soccer Star Celebrates Birth of Baby Boy at 44 After Emotional Years-Long IVF Journey

Carli Lloyd and husband Brian Hollins are celebrating another milestone in a deeply personal journey that has extended far beyond the soccer field. The two-time World Cup champion announced that she has given birth to the couple's second child, a baby boy named Hunter Jax, afterpreviously speaking candidlyabout the fertility challenges she endured while trying to start a family.

Lloyd, 44, revealed Monday that Hunter was born September 24. She and Hollins, 42, are already parents to daughter Harper Anne, who arrived in October 2024 following IVF treatment.

"It wasn't the easiest delivery, which makes us even more grateful for the best team of Doctors, nurses and everyone else who took such amazing care of us throughout this pregnancy," Lloyd wrote. She went on to personally thank members of the medical team who assisted her before revealing that both mother and baby had returned home safely.

The transition has created an entirely new dynamic in the Lloyd-Hollins household, with Harper now getting accustomed to having a younger brother. Lloyd said the family is "adjusting to life as a family of four - especially with our 2-year-old learning her new role as big sister.

And while sleep has understandably become harder to find, Lloyd made clear she wouldn't trade the experience. "These days are a little crazy, a little sleepless, but incredibly special," she wrote.
