Liverpool Monitor €65m Michael Kayode as Premier League Rivals Join Transfer Race Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Brentford defender Michael Kayode, with the Italy international emerging as a potential option as Andoni Iraola considers the long term shape of his squad. According to Caught Offside, Liverpool have placed the 22 year old at the "top of their watchlist", although Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also monitoring his situation.

There is significant competition from Italy, too, with Juventus and other Serie A clubs continuing to track a player whose reputation has grown considerably since his move to Brentford. Liverpool Interest in Michael Kayode Develops Kayode has established himself as one of the Premier League's most intriguing young full backs since joining Brentford from Fiorentina in 2025 for €17.5 million.

His progress has also been recognised internationally. Kayode recently played the full 90 minutes and scored as Italy defeated Turkey 4-1 in the UEFA Nations League.

Caught Offside report that Liverpool are assessing him as they look to strengthen their options at right back. At this stage, however, the interest appears preliminary.

The process is described as being in the "monitoring and reporting" stage ahead of the winter transfer window. Liverpool's recruitment operation routinely assesses potential targets long before any decision is taken over whether to pursue a deal.

Brentford Hold Strong Transfer Position Any Liverpool move would also require a considerable financial commitment. Brentford handed Kayode a new six year contract in July 2026, tying him to the club until June 2032.

That agreement leaves Brentford under little pressure to entertain offers, particularly midway through the season. Caught Offside report that Brentford manager Keith Andrews and the club hierarchy consider Kayode a key starter and have "no intention of selling him mid-season".

His market value is estimated at approximately €40 million, but Brentford are expected to demand at least €60 million to €65 million before considering serious discussions. That represents a substantial increase on the €17.5 million paid to Fiorentina and illustrates how quickly Kayode's standing has developed.

Kayode Profile Fits Iraola's Liverpool From Liverpool's perspective, it is easy to understand the attraction. Kayode is physically powerful, quick and capable of contributing at both ends of the pitch.
