Liverpool eye Premier League star as replacement for Alisson

Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. The Reds see the Dutch goalkeeper as the ideal heir to Alisson at Anfield.
According to a report in Tribal Football, Verbruggen's impressive display for Brighton in recent months has impressed the Liverpool hierarchy. The goalkeeper is now the leading candidate to replace Alisson at Anfield, as the Brazilian enters the final months of his contract.
The Reds have Giorgi Mamardashvili in the squad as the backup after signing from Valencia, but the goalkeeper has failed to impress. The Georgian has not managed to push his way into the starting XI, so he is not guaranteed the spot if Alisson leaves.
Verbruggen has done well in the Premier League this season, playing a key role for Brighton & Hove Albion as they have conceded just seven goals in their opening nine matches. His performances have helped the Seagulls sit third in the table, with a chance to move to second on Sunday, November 8, if they beatBrentford at home.
Meanwhile, new Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola spoke about Alisson's future, admitting he wants the goalkeeper to stay. However, he was unable to confirm if the contract talks between the Brazilian and the club were progressing well.
He said: "I don't know [if this will be Alisson's last season], that is a question you have to ask him. I hope not, I hope he continues with us for more time.
But, when you ask me about contracts and these situations, it is a matter for the players and the club. Yes we have continuous conversations with Julian but I cannot tell you everything.
(via Yahoo ) Alisson is in the final year of his contract and can sign a pre-contract with any side from January, as he will be in the final six months of his deal. Who else is interested in Liverpool target Bart Verbruggen?
Liverpool are not the only side to have shown interest in Bart Verbruggen. Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on the Brighton & Hove Albion star as they look for a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer."
