Liverpool in three-horse race with Champions League winners for €50m sensation

And, while that means that they can attract some of the most talented players, it also means that they'll often face a lot of competition for the players that they want to sign. Article continues under the video Over the last couple of seasons, its felt like every big Premier League or Champions League club have been linked with the same players which, in reality, makes a lot of sense.

However, since so many different clubs get involved in transfer battles, it results in the asking price for players getting higher and higher with even a £35 million deal for someone such as Victor Munoz now seen as a bargain. But, because every club wants to sign the best of the best, this competition will never slow down which is why, if Liverpool want to get deals for their main targets over the line, they're going to have to act fast.

Liverpool weren't at their best last season. They finished the campaign fifth in the Premier League just a year after winning the Premier League title.

This massive fall from grace resulted in Arne Slot being relieved of his duties which led to Andoni Iraola being appointed as their new head coach. From that point on, plenty of change was afoot with four new players being welcomed through the Anfield doors.

And, while all of these new additions have massively helped Liverpool out, there's still room for improvement among certain areas of their ranks. However, if they want to sign long-term target, Finn Jeltsch, they're going to have to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid to his transfer.

"Jeltsch is only 20 years old, stands 1.85 meters tall, and is being followed by many top European clubs, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, who are said to be willing to pay 50 million euros for his signing, and Barcelona," Sportwrote. "Sources close to the German club have confirmed Hansi Flick's interest in this young German talent.

The Barcelona manager is known to follow German football with great interest, as demonstrated by his signing of Karim Adeyemi this summer. That was a personal decision by the current Barcelona coach, who knew Adeyemi very well, and was the first to identify Jeltsch as a target for this summer.

His market value is around €40 million according to Transfermarkt. Although his recent performances suggest that this figure will rise significantly this summer, when Barcelona appears keen to complete his signing.

With the way that football is going at the moment, a lot of players seem to be reaching their peak at young ages. For example, Lamine Yamal is one of the most likely players to win the Ballon D'Or this year but, he's only 19 years old."
