Man City Found Guilty of Breaking Premier League Financial Rules

Manchester City FC-the 10-time champion of the English Premier League -will face potential relegation, points deduction, fines or other types of discipline after an arbitration commission said it broke league rules to obtain an unfair advantage over rival clubs. According to The Athletic, an arbitration commission held on Friday that Man City violated EPL financial fair play regulations and refused to adequately cooperate in investigations as part of a scheme to obtain an unfair advantage over rival Premier League clubs.

The panel took over a year to render a decision in a matter involving facts and allegations dating from 2009 to 2018. The Athletic and UK outlets reported that the panel found City guilty of 114 of the 115 alleged breaches.
