The Premier League said on September 29 that Manchester City have been found guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League's financial rules over a nine-season period between 2009 and 2018.

United's hopes of sticking the landing long-term in the Premier League may be boosted by judgement on Manchester City's bombshell charges. A long running saga, Man City have now been handed a guilty verdict on their financial doping.

They've been hit with 114 charges out of the original 115. Premier League clubs including Leeds United could vote to expell Manchester City after 114 charges - Sky Sports What has to follow soon enough for Man City is the Premier League reaching a swift judgement on what punishment this egregious 'cheating' constitutes.

Of course, even though the Etihad club protest their innocence, punishment is surely forthcoming. Sky Sports' Rob Dorsett highlights that one of the huge punishments on the table for the Premier League is expulsion from the league.

However, that decision would have to be ratified through a club vote from all 20 members of the league, including Leeds. For expulsion to be voted in, 75% (15 clubs) of the league would have to vote in favour.

Also, Dorsett notes that two executives from 'top clubs' would be"staggered if there were 15 clubs ready to expel Man City from the Premier League". These executives believe that kicking out the Manchester club would be"commercial suicide".

Conversely, the Guardian's Matt Hughesnotes a conflicting view. He states that unnamed Premier League club sources believe relegation to the Championship for one season would be insufficient.

Importantly, Everton and Nottingham Forest were handed points deductions for their breaches during the 23/24 campaign. The Toffees were deducted six points after appeal for a£19.5millionbreach of their PSR threshold.

Meanwhile, Man City's finances were inflated by £900million, per the PL statement. Kick them out of the league - A Leeds United view on Manchester City's charges It's an absolute disgrace that Man City have been able to build a decade-long dynasty.
