Man City vs Ipswich Town Premier League preview City host Ipswich looking to become only the third team ever to win their first seven games of a Premier League season. Chelsea managed the feat in 2005/06 and Liverpool followed suit in 2019/20, with both sides proceeding to win the title.

At home to PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday, City fell 3-0 behind inside the opening 30 minutes as Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha scored. City dominated after the break with 27 shots and 52 touches in the PSG box across the game and Erling Haaland scoring twice.

But Maghnes Akliouche's looping effort - which looked to have been brilliantly saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma - crept in. Ferran Torres also missed a late penalty as PSG won 4-2.

That defeat ended Enzo Maresca's eight-game winning run in all competitions, but the domestic picture is still rosy for City, who are top of the Premier League and three points clear of reigning champions Arsenal after a statement 3-0 win away to Liverpool last Sunday. Saturday's game will also be City's first Premier League home match since they were found guilty of 114 of 115 charges for breaking Premier League financial rules, and the home fans are expected to make plenty of noise.

Ipswich arrive in good spirits after a surprisingly strong start to life back in the top flight. Gary O'Neil's side have won three of their first six games and are 10th, six points above the relegation zone.

Wins at home to Sunderland and at Crystal Palace were followed by a dramatic comeback against Fulham last weekend. Trailing with two minutes of regular time remaining, Abdoul Ouattara equalised before captain Dara O'Shea headed in a 92nd-minute winner at Portman Road.
