Manchester City Chair Reaffirms Club's Innocence in Premier League 115 Charges

Manchester City Chair Khaldoon Al Mubarak remains convinced of the club's innocence regarding the 115 charges of alleged breaches of Premier League financial regulations (FFP). "The Premier League process is ongoing, and our conviction and determination to prove the Club's innocence remain as strong as they were when this matter began," Al Mubarak asserted, as quoted in an official club statement on Sunday, September 27, 2026, and cited by Antara.

He stated that there is much he would like to share so that everyone understands the reasons behind their firm belief in Manchester City's innocence. However, Al Mubarak explained that strict confidentiality requirements governing the legal process-and the club's commitment to adhering to them-prevent him from doing so at this time.

Al Mubarak added that, prior to issuing the statement, the club had undergone legal reviews to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. "I ask you to read carefully the statement below-which we issued on Friday-as well as the statement we released in February 2023 (also included below).

Every word within them is significant and entirely accurate," Al Mubarak wrote. Al Mubarak further emphasized that Manchester City maintains its position that the process is ongoing and that the club will respect all applicable procedures.

"The process involving the Premier League is continuing, with a number of important aspects yet to be resolved, and remains subject to strict confidentiality requirements. Therefore, Manchester City FC's stance remains consistent with the Club's statement from February 2023," the official club statement read.

"For eight years, the Club has consistently respected the applicable procedures, trusting that the Premier League Board and executive team would act as independent, impartial, and fair regulators, free from biased influence," the statement added.
