Manchester City's Appeal Evidence: The Premier League Giants Are Still Hanging Tight

Last month, an Independent Panel reportedlyfound Manchester City guilty of 114 out of 115 charges, most of which involve the English giant breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, engaging in "sham" contracts, and refusing to cooperate with the Premier League's investigation into the breach. The club, however, plans to appeal, and it turns out Manchester City's appeal evidence is said to be "irrefutable".
Theone-time UEFA Champions League winnersbelieve the Independent Panel reached a false judgement without considering the club's bank statements and credible testimony from 24 witnesses. This being the case, Manchester City's appeal evidence consists of emails, government letters, including a ruling in Manchester City FC v.
UEFA [CAS 2020/A/6785] from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), delivered in 2020. In that case, UEFA fined the Cityzens with the sum of €30 million, alongside a two-year ban from European football.
UEFA alleged that City were in breach of Article 56 of the Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations. Additionally, it was reported that the eight-time Premier League champions failed to cooperate with UEFA's investigation, as it relates to the breach.
City, however, appealed UEFA's decision to CAS. On appeal, it was ruled that the club's owners weren't sponsoring the club, and that UEFA had failed to provide irrefutable evidence showing how City's owners illegally participated in funding the club.
This flows as one of Manchester City's appeal evidence, and the club's legal team hope to heavily rely on it. The Ruling Of The Independent Panel: Manchester City's Appeal Evidence The Cityzens believe the failure of the Independent Panel to take into consideration the evidence presented by the club amounts to a miscarriage of justice.
The club states the panel made some "fundamental errors" when it assessed the case the Premier League presented before it. The evidence the Premier League presented had to do with leaked emails.
There was, however, no direct witness testimony to corroborate the evidence. City's stance, therefore, is that the panel should have entered judgment in favour of the Manchester club.
This being the case, Manchester City's appeal evidence will seek to tilt the judgement of the appeal tribunal into ordering a retrial, a full or partial acquittal.
