Manchester United plot £100 million+ moves for two Premier League stars to bolster squad in January

Manchester United are reportedly planning to bolster their squad in the January window amid speculation about Michael Carrick 's future at the club. The Red Devils are keen to bolster the squad regardless of who is at the helm and have identified two players to sign.
According to a report in Tribal Football, Everton 's Jarrad Branthwaite and AFC Bournemouth's Adrien Truffert are the top targets when the window reopens. The two players are seen as ideal additions to the backline, which has leaked goals this season.
The Red Devils have targeted Branthwaite for some time, and Chelsea and Liverpool have also kept tabs on him. The club's hierarchy sees the centre-back as the ideal addition as they look to sign long-term replacements for Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez.
The 24-year-old has a contract until 2030 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and is also in talks over a new deal. Everton are reportedly looking for over £60 million if they are to sell him in 2027.
Truffert has played every Premier League game this season, including the 3-0 win at Old Trafford on Sunday, for Bournemouth and has impressed at left-back. The Frenchman, who can also play in the midfield, is the latest addition to the shortlist as Manchester United look for a new left-back.
Lewis Hall remains a target, but the former Chelsea man extended his contract at St James' Park this season after being linked with the Red Devils in the summer. As the chances of luring the Englishman shrink, the Old Trafford side have set their sights on Truffert, who will reportedly cost around £50 million.
Harry Maguire comments on Michael Carrick's future at Manchester United Harry Maguire has admitted that the Manchester United players have not done enough this season under Michael Carrick. The manager is under pressure after winning just two matches in all competitions this season, and the former Leicester City man said: "At the moment, we're not doing enough as players.
Michael [Carrick] turned our season on its head last year, and we played brilliant football and got brilliant results. This season, we haven't performed well enough as individuals.
If conversations happen, it will remain private. We want to do more, be better and get better results."
