Manchester United vs AS Roma: Live updates from Champions League game at Old Trafford

Live Updates After their opening day win, Manchester United's fortunes in the Champions League have started to mirror their Premier League form. The Red Devils lost their next two matches, with both defeats triggering fractures within the football club.

At the Metropolitano, Lisandro Martinez spoke out against the INEOS hierarchy, while after the Como disaster, club captain Bruno Fernandes raised questions on Michael Carrick's tactics. The head coach is on thin ice, and another defeat against AS Roma today could trigger an early exit.

Martinez has been dropped after he single-handedly cost his team the game at the weekend against Chelsea. Ayden Heaven plays in his place.

Kobbie Mainoo also returns to the starting XI after an injury-enforced absence, and he pairs up for the first time with Carlos Baleba. The front four remain the same as Saturday, with Bruno Fernandes playing behind Bryan Mbeumo, with Amad on the right and Matheus Cunha on the left.

This is effectively the same attack that did well for the 20-time English league champions last season. Can United respond under the lights at the Theatre of Dreams against AS Roma?
