Nigeria, Senegal renew beach soccer rivalry in friendlies

Nigeria's Beach Soccer National Team, the Super Sand Eagles, will face African champions Senegal in a two-leg international friendly series in Kaduna. The encounters, organised by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF), are aimed at helping both teams prepare for their respective upcoming competitions.

The first leg is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, with the second leg set for Monday, October 5. Both matches will be played at Murtala Muhammed Square in Kaduna, Nigeria.

Both matches kick off by 5:00 pm Nigerian time. The Super Sand Eagles, two-time African champions, will use the fixtures as part of their preparations for a two-leg Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON) qualifying tie against Ghana later in October.

Senegal, hosts of the next BSAFCON and record African champions, will not participate in the qualifiers. Instead, the Teranga Lions will use the Kaduna friendlies to fine-tune their squad ahead of the continental tournament.

The two-match series brings together Africa's two most successful beach soccer national teams, setting the stage for an intriguing battle as both sides step up preparations for their respective assignments.
