One of Australia's most recent EPL debutants 'lost the love' of football. He's come home to 'restart'

"It's nice to be back home," Tyrese Francois tellsfootball360. auas he sits down for a chat at Brisbane Roar's training base.
The Campbelltown-born midfielder was just 13 years old when his family packed up and moved to England so he could chase a dream, having been spotted by an academy director during a summer camp while on holiday in the UK. "I joined Fulham at a young age by luck, to be honest with you," he explained.
"Right place at the right time - and we just took the opportunity with both hands. My parents saw it very much as an opportunity for me to live my dreams as well as my brothers.
So yeah, because of them, a large part of them pushing us and wanting us to be professional footballers is why we went over there." Watch the full feature interview with Tyrese Francois below. Why One Of Australia's Most Recent EPL Debutants Has Come Home Francois has returned to Australia to play in the A-League for the first time, following over a decade in Europe having become one of just 58 Australians to date to feature in the Premier League, debuting during a lengthy stint on the books of Fulham.
The now 26-year-old looks back fondly on his time at Craven Cottage, where he worked under the likes of Marco Silva, Claudio Ranieri and Scott Parker. "To come through the academy ranks and then to eventually play in the first team was a dream come true, and a moment I hold very dearly to my heart," he said.
I worked under a lot of top managers, worked with some amazing players who are at the top of world football. I have nothing but fond memories there.
He added: "I made my debut at the end of the COVID season in the Premier League. And then we unfortunately got relegated that season.
Of course things could have changed… me not getting injured. You get a run and you get momentum and that's football, right?
But I have no regrets at all."
