Osimhen expects fierce test as Galatasaray host Barcelona in Champions League

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen says his side must combine discipline, resilience and attacking pressure when they face Barcelona at RAMS Park on Tuesday. The Turkish Super Lig champions are looking to respond after losing their opening match to Sporting Lisbon, but they face a Barcelona team renowned for retaining possession and controlling matches.

Osimhen recognised the quality within the Spanish side while insisting Galatasaray were capable of meeting the challenge. The Nigeria international said the hosts would need to press high up the pitch without losing their organisation.

"When you're playing against a team with such quality players, you have to play with both excitement and seriousness; you need to apply pressure in the front area," Osimhen was quoted by aHaber. "They possess the ball a lot, so in a match like this, you need to show some resistance.

Barcelona's ability to dominate possession is expected to place particular demands on Galatasaray's defensive structure, with Osimhen stressing that the home side must remain committed throughout the contest. While the outcome cannot be guaranteed, the striker said Galatasaray were prepared to confront the challenge and would accept whatever result followed.

We're ready, and whatever the result may be from that game, we'll face it head-on," he added. Osimhen also welcomed the opportunity to play against Barcelona in front of Galatasaray's home supporters, describing the occasion at RAMS Park as a special one.

"Playing against Barcelona at Rams Park will be magnificent," he said.
