Premier League Clubs Urged To Make A Move For Celtic Star
Anders Limpar has urged Premier League clubs to move for Benjamin Nygren, naming Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton as teams who could benefit from the Celtic midfielder's quality. The former Sweden international believes his compatriot is ready for English football after continuing his impressive scoring form at Parkhead.
Nygren finished last season with 21 goals and has already contributed eight goals and seven assists this term. Keep up with thelatest Celtic transfer rumoursas they happen.
Team-mates join Nygren to celebrate the second goal. His double against Hearts offered another reminder of his ability to find scoring positions, with the Swede regularly supplying an end product from midfield.
Speaking to PariuriX, Limpar said: "Benjamin Nygren is good enough to play in the Premier League, and you can see that he's still knocking them in for Celtic for fun. It would be stupid for clubs in the Premier League to not buy him.
Man United at the moment are struggling. Liverpool are struggling at the moment.
Everton are not struggling, but they need quality forwards like Nygren. There are a few clubs he can actually choose from that haven't got a good winger/forward.
So, all the Premier League clubs should be looking at this guy, because he's going to come cheap and he's a hell of a player." The midfielder spoke during the summer about his ambition to eventually test himself at a higher level. Maintaining these numbers will strengthen his case, although Celtic's immediate concern should be getting the most from him in the hoops.
There remains debate about his overall influence in midfield, particularly in games where Celtic struggle to control possession or protect their defence. His contribution around the opposition penalty area, however, is difficult to dispute.
Goals from midfield can decide tight matches, and Nygren has supplied them consistently.
