Premier League Round-Up Today: Manchester City Appeal, Brighton Awards and Fixtures

The Premier League remains on its extended international break, but Manchester City's appeal against a major financial ruling has put the club at the centre of the latest league news. City appealed on 2 October after an independent commission found the club guilty of serious breaches of Premier League financial rules.
Brighton & Hove Albion have also dominated the latest headlines after claiming three September monthly awards. Pascal Gross was named Player of the Month, Fabian Hurzeler won the Manager of the Month award and Lewis Dunk took the Goal of the Month prize.
The league resumes on 10 October, with Arsenal hosting Leeds United and Manchester United facing Tottenham Hotspur among the main fixtures. Manchester City appeal financial ruling Confirmed: Manchester City have appealed the independent commission's decision over breaches of Premier League rules.
The Premier League confirmed on 2 October that City had lodged an appeal with the Chair of the Judicial Panel. The original commission found the club guilty of charges relating to serious financial breaches over a nine-season period, as well as most of the charges concerning its cooperation with the league investigation.
The appeal hearing will be private. The Premier League has said the outcome will be published when permitted under the rules.
The case is not yet at the sanctions stage. The Premier League previously said the issue of sanctions would be dealt with separately after the findings had been established.
City continue to contest the ruling through the appeal process. Brighton sweep September Premier League awards Brighton have taken all three major September awards announced by the Premier League.
Pascal Gross won the Player of the Month award after recording six league goal involvements during September, including two goals and three assists. He became the first Brighton player to win the award.
Fabian Hurzeler was named Manager of the Month after Brighton went unbeaten during September. The Seagulls beat Coventry City 5-0, drew 1-1 with Leeds United and defeated champions Arsenal 3-0.
