Premier League Winners and Losers: 3 of Each From Matchweek 9

Brighton conquered the Etihad, Arsenal finally won at Anfield and Bournemouth extended a remarkable run of victories without conceding. Our Premier League winners and losers from matchweek nine also features three clubs whose problems deepened.

Manchester United 's wait for a win continued, Nottingham Forest drew another blank and Sunderland lost ground to a relegation rival. Analysis: Three winners and three losers from the matches played on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November.

Newcastle host Everton on Monday to complete the round. Brighton: an historic win built on more than Ayari's finish Yasin Ayari scored the winner, but Lewis Dunk and Bart Verbruggen ensured Brighton 's first victory at the Etihad became a reality.

Ayari struck after 11 minutes in the1-0 win over Manchester City. Dunk's blocks and Verbruggen's saves then protected the lead, with both singled out in Brighton's official match report.

Having lost to City on penalties in the Carabao Cup during the week, Brighton returned to the same ground and took three points. That response deserves as much attention as the historical milestone.

Third place and 19 points after nine games reflect a side doing considerably more than springing the occasional surprise. Bournemouth: six wins, six clean sheets and a different outlook Marco Rose's Bournemouth have beaten Sturm Graz, Sunderland, AC Milan, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Leeds without conceding.

Six matches, six wins, across three competitions. Saturday's2-0 victory over Leedswas helped by James Trafford's mistake before Evanilson's opener, but Bournemouth still had to protect their advantage.

Amine Adli's stoppage-time goal settled it. The contrast with their start is stark.

Bournemouth went six Premier League matches without a win; they have now won three in succession. Rose has a defence that is giving his forwards room for error.
