Paris Saint-Germain host Barcelona in one of the biggest matches of Matchday 3 in the UEFA Champions League league phase on Tuesday, 20 October. Both sides have made an excellent start to the competition, winning their opening two matches.

PSG currently lead the standings, with Barcelona also among the teams on six points. PSG come into this match in excellent form after winning their last six games in all competitions.

Their latest result was a 3-1 comeback victory over Strasbourg. They also impressed in Europe with a 4-2 win over Manchester City in their previous Champions League match.

The French champions are unbeaten in their last 12 Champions League matches, recording eight wins and four draws. They have also won their last four home games in the competition, scoring at least five goals in three of them.

Barcelona have also been in outstanding form, winning all 11 of their matches this season. They recorded a 5-2 victory over Real Betis at the weekend, scoring at least three goals for the ninth consecutive match.

The Spanish side have scored at least four goals in each of their last four Champions League league-phase matches. However, their defensive record remains a concern, as they have gone 17 consecutive matches in the competition without keeping a clean sheet.

The two sides have met 16 times in the past, with both teams winning six matches and four ending in draws. PSG won the last two meetings between the clubs and will be looking to make it three consecutive victories over Barcelona for the first time.

Ousmane Dembélé will be one of the players to watch for PSG. The French forward has scored in both of his previous meetings against his former club since joining the Parisian side.

He has also scored in six consecutive Champions League appearances. Barcelona will look to Lamine Yamal for inspiration.
