PSG Beat Barcelona 4-2 as Yamal Matches Mbappe's Champions League Record

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Barcelona in a dramatic UEFA Champions League 2026-27 encounter in Paris, despite a goal from teenage star Lamine Yamal that saw him match Kylian Mbappe's scoring record. The two-time European champions delivered an impressive attacking performance at the Parc des Princes, taking the lead three times in a match that saw Barcelona fight back on two occasions.

However, late goals from Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz secured all three points for the French side. PSG suffered an early setback when their key attacker, Ousmane Dembele, left the pitch with an injury after 19 minutes.

His replacement, Ferran Torres, struggled to convert several opportunities as Barcelona worked to contain the hosts. Despite those missed chances, PSG eventually broke through before half-time.

Desire Doue produced a powerful strike to put the home side ahead and give them an advantage going into the interval. Barcelona returned with greater attacking purpose after the break and found an equaliser through young full-back Xavi Espart.

He made a forward run into the penalty area before firing past PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov. The goal brought Barcelona back into contention, but PSG responded from a set piece.

Lucas Hernandez rose to head home from a corner, restoring the hosts' lead and putting pressure on the visitors once again. Barcelona refused to give up, with Lamine Yamal producing another decisive moment.

The young forward found space behind his full-back before driving the ball into the net to make it level as the game entered its final 10 minutes. Yamal's goal carried added significance beyond the scoreline.

It brought him level with Kylian Mbappe for the most goals scored by a teenager in UEFA Champions League history, underlining his growing impact on European football. However, Barcelona could not maintain the momentum for long.

Vitinha restored PSG's lead for the third time with an excellent volley from the edge of the penalty area, giving the home side another advantage in the closing stages. Fabian Ruiz then settled the contest by tapping in a cross from Achraf Hakimi, confirming PSG's victory and ending Barcelona's hopes of securing a late comeback.
