Emile Heskey knows what it takes to play at the highest level, and the former England striker believes Harry Kane has a legitimate Ballon d'Or case - even if he expects Lamine Yamal to get the nod. Heskey, who earned 62 England caps and scored seven goals for the national team, enjoyed a distinguished Premier League career with Leicester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa.
He was also part of England's squads at the 2002 and 2010 World Cups and EURO 2004. Now, speaking on the Ballon d'Or race, Heskey believes Kane faces an uphill battle against the young Barcelona superstar.
Unfortunately for Harry Kane, Lamine Yamal really stands out. He's the next face of football that everyone is pushing, so it makes sense for whoever is voting to lean that way, Heskey told Casinolyze.
"I would love to see Kane win it, especially since Yamal is still young and has plenty of years ahead to win one, but I'd think he'll get the nod this year. He scored 73 goals for club and country last season and has continued producing at an extraordinary level for Bayern Munich.
But Yamal enters the race as part of Spain's World Cup-winning team, while also collecting major honors with Barcelona. For Heskey, it is not necessarily about Kane lacking a case.
It is about Yamal having the momentum, profile and storyline that could ultimately sway the voters. Fewer ads Createcommunity posts Comment on articles, community posts Rec comments, community posts"
