Regragui jokes with Hakimi after PSG's Champions League win over Barcelona

Walid Regragui teased Achraf Hakimi about feeling tired and failing to score after Paris Saint-Germain's 4-2 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League. The former Morocco manager was appearing as a pundit on Canal+'s Canal Champions Club when Hakimi joined the programme for a post-match interview.

Paris Saint-Germain inflicted Barcelona's first defeat of the season in a match in which Hakimi played a key role. The Morocco captain set up Fabian Ruiz for the fourth goal with an assist in the 86th minute.

The victory came at a cost, however, with Paris Saint-Germain forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia suffering a cruciate ligament injury in his knee. Hakimi admitted he had struggled with fatigue towards the end of the match and acknowledged that he had been unable to take advantage of his chances in front of goal.

"I was tired at the end," he said. "It is true that I always try to give my best on the pitch, but I felt the fatigue in the final minutes.

I am very happy with the assist, but as I said, it has been a long time since I scored a goal. I had many chances to score, but the ball did not go into the net.

Regragui, who worked with Hakimi during his time in charge of Morocco, began by praising the defender before turning the interview into a light-hearted exchange. He speaks French well, and that is what I like about Achraf," Regragui said, according to African football news outlet Afrik Foot.

He then responded to Hakimi's comments about exhaustion with a smile, saying: "You never feel tired, Achraf. Since when have you been feeling tired?" Regragui also highlighted the importance of Hakimi's assist in securing the win before returning to the subject of the player's recent lack of goals.

"It has been a long time since you scored a goal, Achraf, hasn't it?" he joked. Hakimi responded with a smile and welcomed the chance to speak to his former manager again.

I am happy to hear you, he said. Regragui still waiting for dinner invitation The exchange reflected the close relationship between the two men, who worked together for four years with the Morocco national team.
