Resurgent URA face Kataka test, In-form KCCA host Maroons - Uganda Premier League - Official Website

URA's resurgence face desperate Kataka test in Bukedea when the two sides lock horns in the Premier League on Wednesday. Sam Ssimbwa's reign has the tax collectors pick maximum points in 1-0 wins over UPDF and Vipers and thus will be favourites against newly promoted Kataka who remain one of the two sides yet to win a league game this season.

The tax collectors, on ten points from eight matches also want to peel away from early relegation battles. The league's newbies will also draw inspiration from their 1-1 stalemate with record champions SC Villa early in the campaign.

Ali Sentamu who is among the leading goal scorers with 4 goals will be the key man Joshua Lubwama and the rest of URA defence must keep an eye on. Kataka have only managed three points in the division and lie second from bottom on the 18-team standings.

At the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo, KCCA will attempt to stretch their winning run to six matches. Brian Ssenyondo's men enter the clash brimming with confidence following a clinical 3-1 victory away at Mbarara City.

KCCA currently sits fifth on the 18-team log, tied on 16 points with Entebbe UPPC. A victory on Wednesday would elevate them within striking distance of joint table leaders BUL and NEC, and leave them just a single point behind record champions SC Villa, whose own unbeaten run was halted on Tuesday in a defeat at Njeru.

Standing in their way is a resilient Maroons side. Positioned 10th on the table with 10 points, Maroons are unbeaten in their last four outings, a run that includes a goalless draw against Entebbe UPPC and a hard-fought point picked up away at Kitende against Vipers SC.

KCCA will rely heavily on their firing frontline to break down the visitors, with forwards Charles Lwanga, Ivan Ahimbisibwe, and Sammy Ssebaduka leading the charge. However, tactical discipline at the back will be vital to neutralize Maroons' attacking threats, spearheaded by Fred Amaku and Dickson Niwamanya.

Adding narrative to the encounter, former KCCA midfield gem Jackson Nunda is set to face his former employers, looking to orchestrate an upset at his old hunting ground.
