Striker who played 131 Premier League games makes admission about joining Rangers

There have been a number of well-known and quality players who have wanted to move to Rangers, but for some reason, have not had their way. This could be down to a number of factors, not least because the Light Blues have not had a proper structure behind the scenes in recent years, and have also had the wrong people in charge of recruitment.
Things appear to have been amended this summer, and Derek McInnes is reaping the benefits of being backed by 14 new players in one transfer window. Rickie Lambert admits that he wished he had joined Rangers Former Premier League striker Rickie Lambert has revealed that Rangers were one club he wished he had played for in his career.
Now 44, the former England international has hung up his boots after a near 20-year career. Who is missing from this list for you and why?
Since his debut in 1998, he has played for a number of top English sides, most notably Liverpool, from 2014 to 2015. He did spend nearly half of his career at Bristol City and Southampton, and in total, made 131 appearances in the Premier League.
That experience would undoubtedly have benefited the Light Blues, and it was a move that he was keen on as well. Ian Abrahams posted a video on TikTok, where he was asked about one club he wanted to play for but did not get the chance to do so.
Without any hesitation, he said: "Rangers". MORE RANGERS STORIES When would Lambert have moved to Ibrox and what would he have brought to the team?
While there were a number of occasions when Lambert was considering leaving his current club, the Gers' situation with regard to their place in Scotland's leagues made the move unfeasible. In 2015, when he left Liverpool, a move to Ibrox would have been something that he would have fancied, but the club were in Scotland's second tier.
He could have moved to Ibrox the following summer post Rangers' promotion, but he ended up joining Cardiff City instead on transfer deadline day. That proved to be his last club and his only realistic possibility of a move to Glasgow.
Lambert would undoubtedly have been a good signing for the Light Blues. He would have been a physical focal point leading the attack and someone who was good at set pieces and penalties.
