MultiChoice's new SuperSport Swahili channel goes live on 5 November on DStv and GOtv, offering 24‑hour Kiswahili sports coverage including Premier League matches for Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. MultiChoice, operating under the CANAL+ brand, announced the launch of SuperSport Swahili, a 24‑hour sports channel in Kiswahili, on Thursday 5 November 2026 on DStv channel 216.

The channel is positioned as the headline sport addition to DStv's new Expect More packages in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, and will also be carried on GOtv in Kenya and Uganda. SuperSport Swahili will broadcast a selection of live Premier League matches in Kiswahili, alongside UEFA Champions League, Europa League, LaLiga, Serie A and Ligue 1 fixtures.

Additional live sport includes FA Cup and Carabao Cup ties, AFCON qualifiers, Diamond League athletics and marathons, as well as delayed Kiswahili‑dubbed WWE Raw, SmackDown and UFC events. The launch lineup features presenters Ahmed Abdallah, Geoffrey Lea and George Embangile, with a team of commentators such as Ibrahim Masoud and Wilson Upete delivering Kiswahili commentary.

Rendani Ramovha, CANAL+ Senior Vice‑President of Sport Content for English‑ and Portuguese‑speaking Africa, said localisation is central to the content strategy, aiming to give East African fans a culturally resonant viewing experience. SuperSport Swahili will be available on DStv Sports and Ultimate packages, on GOtv channel 570, and via the DStv App, ensuring broad accessibility across satellite and streaming platforms.

The channel's opening match will be a UEFA Europa League tie between Crystal Palace and Hoffenheim at 20:45 EAT, followed by Arsenal versus Hull City on 7 November and a LaLiga clash between Atlético Madrid and Barcelona on 8 November. AFCON qualifiers featuring Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya are scheduled from 13 November, aligning with the upcoming CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 co‑hosted by the three nations.

A weekly Kiswahili magazine show, Saa Ya Michezo (The Sports Hour), is slated for early 2027, complemented by regional documentaries and an online news section for SuperSport Swahili.
